Do not be afraid to approach companies that are not hiring, maybe you have a skill set they want but hadn’t really thought about it or got around to placing that ad. It doesn’t matter if you 20 or 50 that resume needs to be up to date, give concrete examples of how your abilities boosted a former employer’s bottom line. Be brief but concise, ask yourself why would XYZ employer want to employee ME. Now answer that question in your resume.
Companies are looking for employees who can improve their bottom line. Finding out what problems a company may have and then positioning yourself as a solution to that problem is a really important way to set yourself apart from a person who comes to the interview and just answers questions. Do the research it doesn’t matter what the job opportunity, research the company.
